My phone in spanish!

A few weeks ago, I decided to be mean to a student that wasn't in Spanish. I thought it was a great idea to change her phone settings to Spanish and everything in her phone was in spanish. What a great idea it turned out to be. I thought it was rather awesome seeing her phone in spanish and so I changed my phone settings to spanish and the rest of that day and the next day I used my phone in spanish and texted people in spanish!

When I did this I never would have thought I would actually be able to understand everything that was said. I understood most of everything and I was able dissect the rest. When texting people I was able to say everything I needed to say. To my surprise, I was fluent and able to think fast about everything. For the words I didn't know, I found ways to go around them.

Encountering this phone setting made me realize that I am more capable of speaking spanish than I think. I usually feel like I don't know what I am doing, but I now know I don't give myself enough credit.
