Payless Foods

As some people may know, I have been working at Payless Foods for a couple months now. I'm a hired stocker, but I have been trained in cashiering and I consider myself as a hotshot. The hired cashiers are always calling on me and asking to help, and I never hesitate to help a person in need. If you don't believe I'm a hot shot ask Olga.

One day as I was cashiering I noticed a regular walk up to my stand and start to unload groceries. Noticing her characteristics I could tell she was from a Hispanic background. As she unloaded all her groceries she handed me a WIC check. I cringed, because I despised doing WIC checks. As I was scanning groceries her son came up holding some candy. The woman started to talk in Spanish to her son and I couldn't catch everything. She was telling him to put the candy back, because they were going to eat supper soon. What they were going to eat I wouldn't know, because she was speaking sooooooooo fast. Her son frowned but put the candy away.

As I finished bagging the groceries the woman thanked me in a form of Spanglish, and she grabber her bags. As she was about to leave I told her adios and she smiled and walked away. To this day that was the first time I've ever interacted with a hispanic american and it was pretty cool. I felt like I could understand bits and fragements that I thought I would never understand.
